Middle School Believe Conference

The Believe Conference for 2012 will be April 27th-28th.  We will meet at the church building at 12:30pm on Friday April 27th to leave.  We will return on the evening of April 28th. The cost for the trip is $70 which will include: Believe Conference, Hotel, and Transportation.  The money is due on March 25th.  That way we can get the cheaper "early Bird" rate.

Winter Jam 2012 Coming Soon

The concert series "Winter Jam" will be here on March 29th.  The cost is $10 at the door.  We will meet at 3:30pm to leave for the concert.  Please sign up on the youth board so I can arrange for transportation.  Pick-up time will depend on the length of concert.  We will call parents on our way home with an arrival time.
 
The Line-Up for this years Winter Jam is:
Skillet, Sanctus Real, Peter Furler, Kari Jobe, Newsong, Building 429, Group1Crew, Dara Maclean, We As Human, For King & Country, Illusionist Brock Gill, and speaker Nick Hall.  
 
Get ready for a great night of music and fellowship.

TYM Bible Bowl Team Competes

Congrats to our TYM Bible Bowl Team of Sarah Brackney, Gabrielle Lewandowski, Sydney Brackney, Abagail Lewandowski, and Lauren Roush.  They had a great year of Bible Bowl.  Way to dig into God's word.  We are all so proud of you!

Parent Workshop Coming in March

The Downriver Youth Ministers are working together to bring a Parent Workshop to all our parents. The date is March 25th from 2:30-4:30pm.  Cost is $5 a person or $8 for a couple.  

 

Our speaker for the workshop is Jonathan McKee. He is president and founder of www.thesource4ym.com, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing free, cutting-edge resources for youth workers across the world. Jonathan is an author, speaker, and trainer who began his career speaking on campus to unchurched middle school students. He continues to speak at school assemblies, events, and camps, in addition to training adult and student leaders nationally. He's also author of Do They Run When They See You Coming: Reaching Out to Unchurched Teenagers. 

 

The theme for the workshop is "Parenting the Texting Generation", building relationships, buying breakfast, and other secrets for connecting with your kids.

COTS

TYM has many opportunities for you to serve.  Over the next several months we will be serving at COTS in Detroit. It is a homeless shelter that feeds and houses families without homes.  We will need to leave the church building at 4:30pm. We will return at 8:45pm.  Please bring money for dinner as we will stop on the way home to eat.  A sign-up list is posted on the TYM Board.  I can only take 10 people at a time. So please sign up ASAP.  Once you have gone, please do not sign up again until everyone has had a chance to serve once.

Momentum (For M.S. & H.S.) 

 

Our next Momentum will be this Sunday, April 1st. Start time is at 5:30pm.  It will end at 7:30pm.  Guys bring chips and girls dessert This Sunday's MDYC Concert has been moved to the Lincoln Park Church of Christ, due to Cheryl Frost's Funeral.

Knoxville Mission Trip 2012

 

 Our plans for our Mission Trip have changed, but the purpose and work has not.  Instead of going to Honduras this year we will be going to the Inner City of Knoxville, TN.   An informational meeting will take place March 11th after worship services, in the Teen Center.  A sign-up list is posted on the youth board as well.

Where: We will be camping at Southlake RV Park in Knoxville, TN
